Long-only Donchian-20 breakout on 1H candles: buys when price breaks the 20-hour high with 1.5× volume confirmation, only when the 4H trend is up. Exits: 2×ATR stop-loss, scale out half at 2R, trailing stop, 5-day time stop. Three tiers: SAFE (BTC/ETH/SOL, 1% risk, max 2) · MEDIUM (alts, 0.5% risk, max 2) · HIGH (ignition signals, $25 size, max 3). Kill-switches halt trading at -3%/-5%/-10%/-15% drawdowns.
Nova Trader is a live paper-trading dashboard for a crypto breakout bot. Every entry, stop-loss, scale-out, and exit is published with an equity curve, open positions, and the full trade history — generated on real Kraken spot market data with fake money, refreshed roughly every 30 minutes. It exists to answer one question honestly: does a simple, rules-based momentum strategy actually make money in crypto, before anyone risks a dollar of real capital.
The strategy: long-only Donchian-20 breakout on hourly candles. The bot buys when price breaks the 20-hour high with 1.5× volume confirmation, but only when the 4-hour trend is already up — trading momentum with the trend, not against it. Risk is mechanical: a 2×ATR stop-loss on every trade, half the position scaled out at 2R, a trailing stop to protect winners, and a 5-day time stop on anything that goes nowhere. It risks 1% of the portfolio per trade and never holds more than 3 positions at once.
The kill-switches are the real feature. Trading halts automatically at -3%, -5%, -10%, and -15% drawdowns, so a regime that stops rewarding breakouts cannot quietly grind the account to zero. All performance is hypothetical and simulated — most breakout systems lose to fees and whipsaws in choppy markets, and this dashboard publishes the losing numbers as loudly as the winners. Not financial advice.
No. Nova Trader is a paper-trading dashboard only. No real money is traded; all results are simulated and hypothetical, generated with modeled fees on real market data.
A long-only Donchian-20 breakout on hourly candles: it buys when price breaks the 20-hour high with 1.5× volume confirmation, only when the 4-hour trend is up. Exits use a 2×ATR stop-loss, scale out half at 2R, a trailing stop, and a 5-day time stop. It risks 1% per trade with a maximum of 3 concurrent positions.
Trading halts automatically at drawdown thresholds of -3%, -5%, -10%, and -15% from the starting balance, so a losing regime cannot compound indefinitely.
The bot scans markets roughly every 30 minutes, and the dashboard publishes on every state change or at least every 6 hours, with the equity curve, open positions, and full trade history refreshed each publish.
The dashboard is a research and education tool, not a signal service. Hypothetical performance has inherent limitations and does not guarantee future results. This is not financial advice.
Paper trading only — simulated performance. No real money is traded; all results are hypothetical, generated with modeled fees on historical and live market data. Hypothetical performance results have inherent limitations: unlike an actual performance record, simulated results do not represent actual trading and may under- or over-compensate for market factors such as lack of liquidity. No representation is made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown. Past performance is not indicative of future results. Crypto trading is risky — most traders lose money. This is not financial advice. Run 1 (Oct 2–17, 2026) closed at −14.6% ($854.02 on $1,000); its full log is kept privately. Run 2 is a fresh book — the bot is currently paused, and new trades will publish here when it resumes.
